WORKING TOGETHER FOR BELIZE'S WILD CATS

Belize Wild Cats welcomes collaboration with zoological institutions, researchers and conservation organizations interested in advancing the conservation of Belize's native felids and their habitats.

WHAT BWC BRINGS:

Long-term field presence in Belize, established monitoring sites, trail-camera experience, local relationships, habitat restoration opportunities and more than a decade of conservation work.

FIELD RESEARCH:

Trail-camera monitoring • Margay & jaguarundi research • Habitat use • Wildlife movement and connectivity

RESTORATION RESEARCH:

Forest recovery • Wildlife return • Habitat connectivity • Long-term monitoring

Of particular interest is understanding how lesser-studied margays and jaguarundis respond to fragmented and recovering landscapes—an area where long-term field monitoring can help fill important knowledge gaps.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION:

Scientific guidance • Field equipment • Conservation funding • Staff participation • Joint research • Wildlife monitoring • Habitat restoration • Conservation education

Interested in working together? We welcome conversations with institutions looking for meaningful, field-based conservation opportunities in Belize.
